November & December

First, thank you to everyone who came out to support the farm this year, from Spring time through the Fall! It is hard to believe we have entered the winter season on the farm.

November means different market hours. We will be open Thursday 10AM – 6PM, Fridays 10AM – 6PM and Saturday 10AM – 4PM until Christmas retail days.

November is clean up, put away and organize month. The scarecrows need to be dried and then stored for next year, the fields need to be prepared for the winter months. Corn and sunflowers need to dry down and then get harvested. Gardens need to be winterized, leaves raked, and all summer items stored until Spring. Greenhouses need to be cleaned and prepped for Spring seeding.

The animals and birds will go in the barn where it is safe and warm and hopefully our males are successful and we will have babies for Easter.

As we get closer to December, we get ready for Christmas turkey time. We sell fresh turkeys for Christmas and our retail days will be Saturday Dec 21st 9AM – 5PM and Monday Dec 23rd 9AM – 6PM. There is no retail on the 24th as the farm will be officially closed until April for a much needed break.

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS CAN BE ORDERED NOW AS WELL! Email sue.rtbf@gmail.com

Christmas turkeys will range from 12 pounds to around 24 pounds and need to be ordered. Like last season, I am working on a Christmas hamper. Items are being finalized and it will be promoted on both Facebook and Instagram as well details will be on our website as well.

We look forward a more relaxing time, winter is slower on the farm, and so less stressful as well. As we get older, we find we need these breaks more, in order to feel refreshed for another season.
