FRESH TURKEYS
Here at RTBF our farm fresh, naturally grown turkeys are plump, juicy and flavourful. They are corn, grain, soybean fed, and no medicated feed, no growth hormones, and no antibiotics. They run around in a curtain walled barn enjoying fresh air and sunshine
To keep our turkeys active and happy we hang fresh kale and cabbages in the barn for them to eat. Fresh turkeys are available for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our turkeys are well cared for and humanely raised.
Generally, between the holidays, we have frozen one available for purchase.
What do we do with the extra turkeys? We have lots of yummy products made like:
TURKEY SAUSAGES
Fresh frozen turkey sausages. All our sausages are gluten and pork free, have no fillers and made by Max Meats, Downsview, ON and there are lots of flavours to choose from
HOT: chorizos, hot Italian, chili and lime.
MILD: mild/sweet Italian, honey garlic, sun dried tomato, cranberry sage, spinach & feta, bratwurst, maple & smoked sausages.
Early morning: turkey breakfast sausages.
TURKEY BURGERS
Our turkey burgers are light and dark meat and spices–nothing more is needed.
Put them on the bbq on high heat FROZEN, until they bubble through-that’s about 3 -5 minutes, flip and cook another 3-5 minutes. To check if they are done, don’t prick them (that releases the juices) just cut a small piece off the edge. Juicy, and delicious they are ready to eat in about 10 minutes.
We also have frozen ground turkey for those who wish to make their own burgers or meatballs.
TURKEY POT PIES
Locally made with our own turkey and only carrots and peas added, these pot pies are delicious. Cooked and then frozen it’s great for lunch or dinner.
Thaw and reheat at 350 degrees for half an hour or heat from frozen at 300 degrees for about 45 – 50 minutes.
