As we near the middle of January, we look forward to  Spring, sunshine and longer days.

We are excited for the arrival of new animal babies. The sheep and goats and cows and rabbits are all due to birth before the end of March. The duck and chicken and goose eggs will be going in the incubator to be hatched just in time for Easter. Check out our information on our Easter Eggs-perience and book a date and time to come and enjoy the farm.

It may only be January but we are eager to start seeding for our farm market and CSA bin program. We try not to start too early, the ground is still frozen and covered with snow and it makes the seedlings weak because there is not enough sunshine. But the greenhouses are prepped, the manure has been spread and the soil is ready for seeds and plants. It the beginning of a new cycle of growth. Our CSA program starts the second week of June and goes for 21 weeks until the end of October. We grow a lot of the produce but also partner with local farms for the things we do not grow.

Our farm market will have longer hours and more days as the Spring arrives and by Mother’s Day Saturday we will be open again full time, Tuesday – Saturday. We can’t wait to harvest fresh produce from the greenhouses and the first asparagus from the fields.

A new venture this Spring is the planting of more flowers. The dahlia tubers we dug and stored last fall are looking healthy and we anticipate a much larger patch of flowers for cutting. We also have ordered zinnia, marigold, cosmos and sunflower seeds, so that beautiful bouquets can be made. We hope you can come out and enjoy the flowers and the sunflower maze as well.

We are looking forward to all 2024 brings and hope to see you soon.
